  2. He deserved the red card, but that doesn't change the fact that Zidane is and will remain a legendary player!

  3. perfect photo for the day. -Zidane exits head down and unreadable -- the trophy alone and left behind...

  4. I was thinking that maybe he knew he was not going to win and could not face getting a 2nd place medal so he opted for a different dramatic exit.

I too hope that we find out the "whole story" as JW puts it.

  5. He deserved to be the Player of the tournament. I am so glad he got that, a real sad event, it tore me up, just a second of anger to get ejected, which was correct of course. I just loved the whole World Cup show. I enjoyed every match and all the people of the world enjoying themselves.

  6. Looking at the replay, it's obvious that he deserved the card, but as one who's played sports competitively, theres some $hit that just does not go unchecked. Still, you can't let your team down. What if he would have been there to sink one of the kicks in sudden death?

  7. In that case he let his team and country down big time. That would be hard to live with. I still find it unbelievable that he could not control himself in such a big game (despite what was said to him).
